Every Sunday we depend on numerous ministries to make church happen. Volunteers typically serve every four to six weeks. We would love your help in any of the following areas! Contact Gina Carlisle and let her know you'd like to be trained!
Sunday Ministry Teams
Hospitality Ministry
Our Hospitality Team provides a first impression by greeting at the front doors and connecting with guests. They also usher during the service, make coffee and help clean up after the service. If you consider yourself friendly, like to smile, and connect well with others this might be the ministry for you!
Altar Ministry
The Altar Ministry Team makes sure we have communion bread, wine, chalices, linens, and candles ready for worship. If you love liturgy and worship or like to serve behind the scenes, this team is for you. Many churches call this the Altar Guild.
Readers & Chalice Bearers
If you have a knack for reading Scripture articulately and passionately, volunteer to read one of our lessons or psalm on a Sunday morning during the service. If you love the sacrament, serving as a chalice bearer in Sunday worship can be a powerful way to connect to God and your community.
Kid's Ministry
Kid’s Ministry volunteers serve in various ways: Godly Play Storytellers and Godly Play Helpers (Pre-K to 2nd) or as Whirl Leads or Whirl helpers (3rd-5th) during Sunday Worship. If you enjoy teaching others about God's love, consider serving in Kids' Ministry. All Kids Ministry volunteers will be background checked and must complete the Episcopal Church's Safe Church training.
Audio/Visual Support
Other behind the scenes roles include the Audio/Visual Team. These volunteers run our slideshow and video switcher (for live-streaming) during services. No experience necessary - we'll train you!
Acolytes
Teens and kids (8 years and up) serve as acolytes, which means altar attendant. They help carry the cross and torches, and the Gospel book, as well as lead the procession and help serve at the Altar. Several Adults also serve as Acolyte Shepherds.
Music Ministry
We are always looking for musicians and singers to join our music team, especially folks who play unique instruments like violin, cello, trumpet, banjo, etc. Email our Music Minister Kyle if you are interested in sharing your talents in worship!

Grace Church has a number of outreach partners in the community that it supports financially and through volunteers. We seek to be love spreaders and difference makers for the Kingdom of God. Serving in our community is one of the ways we live out the Generous Hearts in Rule of Life.
Outreach
Hunger Team
Volunteering monthly at the Food Bank of Western Oklahoma, our Hunger Team helps meet the needs of over 300 families per month in our community. This team seeks to follow Jesus' command to "Feed the hungry and welcome the stranger" (Mt. 25:31-46). The Food Bank allows children to serve alongside a parent or adult, making this a great opportunity for families to volunteer together.
Laundry Love
As part of the national Laundry Love movement, this team partners with a local laundromat, Yukon Laundry (1220 S. Holly Ave) to help people do their Laundry for FREE on the last Thursday of the month from 5-8pm. This is about more than clean clothes, but about human dignity and providing for a basic need to those in need. This ministry is a tangible sign of God's love and a reminder that his Grace is for everyone! Need help with your laundry? Just show up between 5 and 8 p.m.!
Meals of Grace Team
In partnership with Ice Angels Ministry of Mosaic Methodist Church, Grace Church sends a team on Wednesdays to serve hot meals to the food insecure near downtown OKC. On the third Wednesday of the month Grace Church sponsors the meal. Volunteers prepare the meal Monday and Tuesday - so there are many opportunities to serve or prepare!
Compassionate Sharing
Grace Church supports Compassionate Sharing through financial contributions, food drives, and volunteers. Compassionate Sharing helps families with utilities, rent, transportation, food and other forms of assistance.
Magdalene House
Grace Church supports Magdalene OKC, who serves women who have experienced abuse, sexual exploitation, addiction, or incarceration as they rebuild their lives and focus on healing and wholeness through trauma informed therapy; physical, mental and dental health care; self-care; life skills training; and job training – all within the context of restorative relationships, professional support, accountability, and the safety of a home.

Living into our Rule of Life (Authentic Relationships, Sacramental Lives, Generous Hearts) as a congregation means we care for one another in times of crisis and transition, giving both our joys and sorrow to God. Sometimes you need help, care, comfort... and our Congregational Care team, along with our clergy are here for you. Please contact Mthr. Dana if you are in need of support from our Congregational Care Team, or if you are interested in serving with this team.
